This site is all about finding the best practice to get your dental implants from. Now just because we love the benefits of having dental implant work done, doesn’t mean we don’t adhere to strict dental fundamentals. If you have a missing tooth, or even missing teeth, then, at least in our opinion, having dental implants placed in your mouth is the right way to go. On the other hand, if you are still not sure you even need dental implants, then we think it makes the most sense to to try and save the real teeth you do have.
Nothing, and we mean absolutely nothing, is more durable than your natural teeth. They were meant to take a beating, and last the majority of your life. If you need to replace them, then we suggest you consider implants first and foremost. Until that time shows up in your life, if it ever shows up at all – why not consider limiting your exposure to three particular foods dentists have found have the harshest effect on real teeth.
The first on the list – crackers. Crackers, once they enter your digestive system, eventually end up turning into sugar. The key to remember is that your saliva is the first part of your digestive system. If you do not floss and brush regularly, then that sugar stays in your mouth, and begins breeding bacteria.

Next up are pickles. Yes, those things that come wrapped up with your sandwich. Pickles are one of those foods that you either love or hate – there really is no in-between on that one. If you love them, you need to cut down the amount you take in. Pickles are created through vinegar, Vinegar is highly acidic, and does much more damage to the body than good. The brine your vegetables are pickled with is damaging to your teeth.
The last food, or foods, you want to tread lightly with are citrus fruits. Lemons, grapefruits, grapefruits, and even kiwis, are highly acidic, and can wear down the enamel on your teeth. Of course this is not to say you cannot enjoy these foods, but we know most Americans have issues with their teeth, and that’s because most Americans are slack with their dental hygiene. If you are going to indulge in these foods, then make sure to stay on opt of your teeth throughout the course of your day. Sure it can be a pin in the butt, but so is that drill screwing a hole into your jawbone to place the implant you need to replace that missing tooth – get it? Got it? Good!
